Do we have to go to court to divorce?
Not always. If you agree on everything, a divorce by mutual consent can be signed by lawyers without a judge, unless a child asks to be heard. Each spouse must have their own lawyer.
How is a child’s residence decided?
Parents can agree on it; otherwise the family judge decides, based on the child’s best interests.
Can a marriage contract be changed after the wedding?
Yes, the property regime can be changed during the marriage, subject to conditions. We can advise on whether it makes sense for you.
